ReplyDeleteIt is a Visayan song but in the Hiligaynon tounge, not in Cebuano. It is so since Visayas is a region and Bisaya are people, not a dialect.
ReplyDeleteThis song is our lullabye. My mom and grandmom sang this to us when we were small. Im so sad that people where creeped out because of that movie. As an ilonggo, this is our culture. Not just a song in that movie. As of the moment, im singging this song to my child as he sleeps.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. I’m 61 yrs old and I grew up listening to this song as my mother would sing it to us to sleep. Born and raised in Manila, we were never deprived of the visayan music and culture. And I sang it too to my children and now, grandchildren here in the US.
Deleteuna kong nabasa to nung grade 4 ako sa likod ng book ko ng filipino .. simula non hindi kona nakalimutan yung kantang to .. hindi ko noon maintindihan pero feeling ko ang sarap nyang pakinggan 😊 ang sarap sa tenga .. kahit ginamit nila to sa horror na palabas .. gustong gusto ko parin to kase i feel so relief when i hear this song..

DeleteWhen i found out about that horror movie it creeped me out.. I'm really scared because they say that the person who made the song that died suddenly appear and showed in that horror movie.. I'm really scared.. Some say that when you sing this song, the person who made this soing will show up to you.. I need this to sing for our Filipino performance but i'm a little bit scared or really scared.. Maybe i'll just lip sing it, i guess😅 I'm never gonna sing this song ever again..
